As we all have experienced 2020 was a crazy and unpredicted year due to Covid-19. There was a shortage of materials and some of the latest and greatest products that were anticipated were not available. Here at Shanahan Consulting & Construction we will help guide you through what is new and available for 2021 from Unilock and Techo-bloc.

Unilock over the past year has introduced some brand-new additions to their product line as well as some new formats to classics. For the 2021 season they added Arcana, Revela, and updates to the Umbriano product line.

Arcana is a new paver designed for patios, pools and roof top decks as well as overlay applications. It has a matte texture with granite and quartz particles and also features an easy clean integral surface that helps prevent stains.

Revela is large format paver available in both pedestrian and driveway thickness. This paver features a modern texture that mimics a sandblasted texture and a non-slip surface. Revela is available in 3 different colours and 3 different sizes if used in an 80mm thickness.

Umbriano a classic truly unique paver that can be used for any style of design with its easy clean surface has received some new additions over the past year. Umbriano is now available in a massive 4” thickness for those commercial and high-density developments as well as in a pool coping. It is still available in the 4 timeless colours of French grey, Summer wheat, Winter marvel and Midnight sky.

One of our favorite parts of Umbriano is that it is available in every traditional paver thickness including 60mm, 70mm, 80mm and 100mm so inlays and detailed designs are a breeze and can be combined with nearly any paver without increasing installation time.

Techo-bloc has introduced some great new products including Everest and Westmount, with some changes made to some past pavers including Squadra and Antika.

Everest is a brand-new product that has a unique manufacturing process that puts the texture of the paver on an angle with a fine finish creating a true natural stone effect in a dry-cast paver. Everest comes in 4 colours and 3 sizes so creating a traditional modular pattern or a modern contemporary look to suit your style. Everest is a dry-cast paver with a face-mix so it has great durability in terms of the finish for years to come on patios and walkways.

Westmount is another brand-new product that is a slim linear paver that can be used in driveway applications as well as for pedestrian use. Westmount has very clean lines but due to its shape and colours it can be used in a contemporary design or in traditional designs. Westmount is available in 4 colours and is a dry-cast, face-mix paver so it has increased strength and durability to withstand the elements.

For the 2021 season Techo-bloc has also updated their past pavers Squadra and Antika products which have been available for the past few years to no longer having a tumbled edge providing a more contemporary look.
